Azores players to leave early
The Azores Under-19 team will leave Bermuda before their final round robin match in the Bermuda International Football Festival this weekend as several of their players have to sit exams back in the Azores.
As a result the Azores will not be involved in Sunday’s matches, which would have seen the top two teams playing for the title. Instead organisers have changed the final-day matches with the Bermuda Under-19 taking on West Ham United Under-19 for a second time. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in their opening match on Monday evening.
Tonight’s games at Goose Gosling Field will see West Ham playing the Bermuda Select at 6.30pm and Azores taking on the Bermuda U-19s at 9.
On Friday, Azores will meet West Ham at 6.30pm, followed by the match between the two Bermuda teams at 9.
